NEW Daikin Perfera floor-mounted unit offers more features and benefits

Daikin’s new Perfera floor-mounted unit has been upgraded to provide full capacity combination for pairs and multis.

The new FVXM-A9 replaces FVXM-A.  The fan coil unit now has a new integrated leak detection sensor to comply with IEC 60335-2-40 Ed 7 (a software upgrade has been applied to the multi split outdoor unit).

If a leak is detected, the outdoor unit stops, and the indoor unit runs in fan-only mode (blinking LED light). If a leak occurs four times within the hour or for ten consecutive minutes, a continuous beep will be heard. This can be reset by pressing the ‘cancel’ button on the IR controller for five seconds.

The new feature means that new minimum floor areas now apply when the Perfera floor unit is installed with Multi split outdoor units.

For pair application, no floor limit applies as the refrigerant charge is usually below 1.8kg.

The FVXM-A9 is available in pairs (class 20-50) and all multi-combinations (2port 40 – 5port 90 MXM-A9).

Soft, contemporary design

The unit is designed to fit rooms of any size and shape, blending with the interior due to its flowing lines and soft edges.

The FVXM-A9 offers advanced heating functions, including Heat+ and Floor Warming, providing comfort in a range of installations including domestic, offices or retail shops.

The Heat+ function warms up the room for 30 minutes via convection at a very low fan speed. Whereas in Floor Warming mode, warm air is discharged at floor level to create even heat distribution for up to 3.5 metres.

Vertical auto swing moves the discharge louvres up and down for efficient air and temperature distribution throughout the room. 

All units in the FVXM-A9 range are fitted with a titanium apatite deodorising filter which eliminates odours from say tobacco and pets. The Flash Streamer technology breaks down allergens such as pollen and fungal spores, and provides fresher and cleaner air (the Flash Streamer technology is not meant to be used for medical purposes).

The Residential Controller App controls the indoor unit from any location via the user’s local network or internet; connection is quick and easy due to the built-in WLAN PCB board.

Main functions like temperature set point, operation mode, fan speed, etc., can also be controlled via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
