The VRV 5 system also offers major benefits to installers including its new 3-pipe heat recovery BSSV box which has been specifically developed for lower GWP R32. This feature alone reduces pipework, labour times, and material costs.

- Fully compliant with product standard (IEC60335-2-40), reducing the risk of direct CO2 eq. impact from a refrigerant leak
- Real-time leak detection sensors, triggering refrigerant containment safety measures in the unlikely event of a leak.

Another key feature of the new 3-pipe BSSV box is the new slide-down PCB panel. This allows installers to easily access the PCB board, reducing on-site time and costs.
Even more free heat
Daikin’s 3-pipe technology needs less energy to recover heat, meaning significantly higher efficiency during heat recovery mode – more free heat.
The system can recover heat at a low condensing temperature because it has dedicated gas, liquid and discharge pipes. In a 2-pipe system, gas and liquid travel as a mixture so the condensing temperature needs to be higher in order to separate the mixed gas and liquid refrigerant. The higher condensing temperature means more energy is used to recover heat resulting in lower efficiency.
