As the country prepares to leave the European Union, Principal Climate want to provide reassurance to all of our customers that after 31st January 2020, business will continue as usual. While UK trade terms are yet to be negotiated, Daikin has already been planning for the future, to ensure uninterrupted supply of all equipment and spare parts to our UK customers.
Daikin UK will continue to operate smoothly during the transition period and Principal will continue to work closely with you as a valued customer.
Below is a summary of the current planning arrangements:
Supply
Most Daikin products are manufactured in or imported from mainland Europe. Daikin have put in place measures to improve the control of supply in the UK by:
1. Increasing safety stock holding on units by an additional 50%, and doubling spare parts stock.
2. Doubling supply routes into the UK by splitting routes via both ferry and by road.
3. Working with our logistics provider to ensure that we are fully prepared for any changes to custom checks on imported goods. We will advise customers in advance if this has any impact on delivery timescales.
4. Guaranteeing price and stable supply of R410A on your forthcoming projects, together with the dedicated support of your UK service team.
VAT
The UK will continue to have a value added tax (VAT) system after Brexit, although there will be some changes. All of our IT systems have been upgraded so they are able to cope with any changes to our VAT calculations and future requirements.
Principal will continue to provide you with your equipment, spares, and a full service post-Brexit. You can be confident that we, and Daikin UK remain committed to service excellence throughout the coming year and in to our new, independent future.
